3 Can’t Miss Colorado Springs Breweries

If you worked up a thirst exploring Garden of the Gods, check out these Colorado Springs breweries that are also near the park!

You’ve spent the day exploring Garden of the Gods and now you’re hungry and thirsty. What to do now? Head to one of these great Colorado Springs breweries that have the added benefit of being near Garden of the Gods. Score!

1) Trinity Brewing

Located on Garden of the Gods Road less than 5 miles from the park, Trinity Brewing is one of those places that you just have to experience for yourself. They offer some of the most unique brews in town in a pub that is made of mostly recycled materials. While they focus heavily on saisons (think refreshing, fruity, and sometimes earthy), the ever-changing list of beers is sure to have something to please everyone, from the most seasoned craft beer aficionado to the “fizzy yellow beer” drinkers.

On top of the award winning beers, the food is also excellent. The food menu is full of delicious, made from scratch dishes that stand head and shoulders above most pub food.  Throw in a sunny patio to enjoy the Colorado weather and Trinity Brewing needs to be at the top of your list of Colorado Springs breweries.

2) Red Leg Brewing Company

Red Leg Brewing Company may be one of the newer breweries in town but that doesn’t mean they can’t compete with the grown ups. They opened in 2013 and their Devil Dog Stout won a Bronze Award at the World Beer Cup a year later!

Their flagship beers consist of the usual styles (Brown, IPA, Amber, Witbier, Pilsener, Stout) and each is an excellent tribute to the style. They usually have a couple of seasonal beers on tap as well if you’re looking for something a little more out of the ordinary.

They are just down the road from Trinity Brewing, so turn your post-hiking activities into a mini beer tour and tell your designated driver to make another stop on the way home. While they don’t have a kitchen on-site, there’s a rotation of food trucks in the parking lot so you’ll never be left hungry.

3) Manitou Brewing Company

We may be talking about Colorado Springs breweries but for many people, a trip to Garden of the Gods is followed by a stop in Manitou Springs. It’s just down the road and it has a lot of fun, funky shops and restaurants. While you’re there, do yourself a favor and stop by Manitou Brewing Company. They opened up in 2014 and filled a much need gap as the only brewery in Manitou Springs.

Conveniently located in the heart of historic Manitou Springs, they offer a wide range of beer styles, plus a selection of 10+ guest beers and ciders, wine and spirits, and a full kitchen. I’ve only tried the appetizers but in my defense, the nachos are big enough for two or three people. If you need an excuse to check out a third brewery, go to their running club on Wednesdays and burn some calories before you fill up on good food and great beer.
